Responsibilities
- Develop strategic research priorities for the continued success of the CGWG, including the schedule for mid-term events and the International Conference for Carceral Geography
- Organise and chair committee meetings and the Annual General Meeting
- Attend RGS Sub-committee meetings and training events
- Liaise with CGWG members, the CGWG committee, and external agencies and colleagues across the world
Research interests
Jennifer’s transdisciplinary research interests broadly concern how the penal system is integrated into contemporary society and include understandings of:
- Conceptualising carceral space
- ‘Other’ carceral spaces and carceral boundaries;
- Carceral (im)mobilities
- Prison architecture, design and technology
- Prison-military complex
