Chair’s responsibilities

  • Developing strategic research priorities for the continued success of the CGWG, including the schedule for mid-term events and the International Conference for Carceral Geography
  • Organising and chairing committee meetings and the Annual General Meeting
  • Attending RGS Sub-committee meetings and training events
  • Liaising with CGWG members, the CGWG committee, and external agencies and colleagues across the world

Jennifer’s research interests

Jennifer’s transdisciplinary research interests broadly concern how the penal system is integrated into contemporary society and include understandings of:

  • Conceptualising carceral space
  • ‘Other’ carceral spaces and carceral boundaries;
  • Carceral (im)mobilities
  • Prison architecture, design and technology
  • Prison-military complex
